Train Ride, Yangon, Myanmar

December 31st, 2014

Hands down the best thing we did in Yangon was take a circle train ride through the city, out into the country, and back. Overall, it was at least 3-4 hours total. But we were some of the only foreigners on it- there were tons of locals getting on and off with various goods and things to sell. It was absolutely fascinating.

My favorite part of the train was that it had no doors, windows, or seat belts. It was truly hop-on, hop-off. Old people, young people, you name it. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Don’t worry, he’s not glaring at me. We exchanged portraits. Lord knows where mine ended up on his flip phone…
